Tyler Keith & Tim Lee/Bark.

Free reading and performance at Turnrow Books at 7pm

This Friday night at 7pm at Turnrow Books here in Greenwood is a FREE book reading/performance with both Tyler Keith and Tim Lee, who'll be playing with Susan Bauer Lee in BARK.

Tim has a great new memoir about his life in music, "I Saw A Dozen Faces," and Tyler has an exciting new Southern noir novel, The Mark of Cain, which is set in the Florida Panhandle. Both are published by Tim and Susan's company Cool Dog Sound, with wonderful design by Susan.

This is the second official event sponsored by the non-profit Hush Puppy Music Coop, which is dedicated to bringing live music to Greenwood! Come on out!

TYLER KEITH was born and raised in the Panhandle of Florida. He moved to Mississippi at 18 and received a degree in English Literature at University of Mississippi where he studied writing under Barry Hannah. He spent the next twenty years writing songs and playing in the bands the Neckbones, Tyler Keith and the Preacher’s Kids, Tyler Keith and the Apostles, and Teardrop City, making 14 albums and touring in the U.S. and Europe. In 2013 he wrote and performed in a musical play called “The Outlaw Biker.” He returned to the University of Mississippi and received a master’s degree in Southern Studies, and a MFA in Documentary Expression. “The Mark of Cain” is his first novel.

TIM LEE is a never-was playing music well past his sell-by date. As a young person, he was a member of the Windbreakers, who were part of the American independent music scene of the 1980s, and has made some three dozen records that you’ve likely never heard. Chances are he has slept on your couch a time or two. He wrote a book about those experiences (“I Saw a Dozen Faces ... and I Rocked Them All: Diary of a Never Was”). He currently lives in Water Valley, Miss., with his wife/musical partner Susan Bauer Lee and their aged long-haired basset hound, Sonny Boy.
