Season 5 Begins: An Evening of Memphis Songcraft
The summer pause is over, and Season 5 of the Hush Puppy Music Coop Concert Series kicks off with an intimate night of music at Zoe Coffee — featuring Amy LaVere, Will Sexton, and Greenwood's own Jon Byrd.
About the Artists:
Born and raised on a Mississippi Delta farm, Jon Byrd learned guitar at 14 and has been crafting songs ever since. His unique, crisp vocals blend traditional country with a shot of rock ‘n’ roll, reflecting a life spent on the farm, on dirt roads, and in the great outdoors. He'll perform an opening set mixing originals and a few old favorites to start us off on a good foot!
Amy LaVere is a singer-songwriter and upright bass player whose music blends Americana, rockabilly, and folk with a darkly romantic edge. Her voice has drawn comparisons to Patsy Cline and Nancy Sinatra, and her songwriting is both vulnerable and fierce.
Will Sexton is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter who has been part of the Memphis music fabric for decades. His work spans rock, blues, and soul—always rooted in deep musicianship and genuine emotion.
