About the Artists
Paul Burch
Paul Burch’s music is wonderfully hard to pin down—a distinctive sound that feels both fresh and steeped in tradition. Often drawing comparisons to legends like Buddy Holly for his melodic ingenuity, Burch has carved out a unique space in the American roots landscape.
For over two decades, he has fused an indie rock ethos with a profound vision of country, blues, and folk music. This vision has attracted an eclectic array of collaborators, including Lambchop, Mark Knopfler, Vic Chesnutt, Candi Staton, the Waco Brothers, and the late Ralph Stanley.
He is also the author of Meridian Rising, a celebrated novel based on the life of Jimmie Rodgers.
Don't just take our word for it:
“I’ve got a few friends who possess encyclopedic knowledge of the history of country music... Paul Burch can show you where the ghosts reside.”
— Steve Earle
“I’m a Paul Burch fan. His music never fails to achieve its purpose... to lift up, to deepen, to intensify the spirit of audience and musicians alike.”
— Peter Guralnick, author of biographies on Elvis Presley, Sam Cooke, and Sam Phillips
Fats Kaplin (with special guest Kristi Rose)
Paul will be joined on stage by the incredibly versatile Fats Kaplin. As one of Nashville’s most respected sidemen, Kaplin's talents have graced the work of artists from the late, great John Prine to Jack White.
He is a master of multiple instruments and brings a sense of artistry and playful mystery to his performances. Rumor has it he may blend elements of illusion with musicianship for this special night—you'll have to be there to see it unfold!
He'll be accompanied by the wonderfully talented Kristi Rose, making this a truly collaborative and unique performance.
