About FERD: Delta Roots with a Spirited Kick

FERD brings Mississippi Delta roots to the stage with a spirited blend of folk, bluegrass, and blues traditions. The band delivers traditional-sounding original tunes with a kick that is "all joy, big bass, and blazing banjo".

The band is nearly 15 years in the making. Ferd Moyse (former fiddler and front man for the Hackensaw Boys) first met East Tennessee banjoist and singer Matt Morelock in 2007, and double-bassist Chris Stevens shortly thereafter. The trio decided to take their act on the road in 2021 with a singular focus on Ferd's body of timeless original songs.

Audiences can expect a driving, jubilant, and fun sound. The band's live performance is a sight to behold, with Stevens on the big bass, Morelock on banjo, and Moyse fiddling and singing while stomping on an old Samsonite suitcase like a drum. They have quickly gained attention worldwide, earning headlining spots at the Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival, Old Tone Festival, and Blackpot Festival.

Their debut album, Feelin' Like the Wind, is a musical journey into the toils of joy we find while stumbling our way to forgiveness. Recorded live to tape using pre-1940s gear, the album has been praised as "charming, like a down-home hoedown on wax," with a raw and uncomplicated sound that feels like a "cacophonous celebration of complex simplicity".

About Taylor Hollingsworth: A True Maverick of Original Music

Taylor Hollingsworth, the fingerpicking songwriter hailing from Birmingham, AL, is back with an electrifying, foot-stomper of an album titled Yahola. With his unique blend of folk, rock, and blues, Taylor has carved out a distinct musical niche that he calls "folk n' roll" or electric folk.

In a world full of manufactured pop sensations, Taylor Hollingsworth stands apart as a true maverick. Recorded at Dialback Sound in Water Valley, MS, this record will stand out to those who love the genre but are seeking a fresh take.

Taylor's immense talent on the guitar, coupled with his remarkable songwriting abilities, has earned him a rightful place among music connoisseurs. His career highlights include:

  • Having his works featured in popular TV shows, podcasts, and movies.

  • Having his songs covered by esteemed artists like Conor Oberst and Phoebe Bridgers.

  • Serving as the lead guitar player for Conor Oberst on several worldwide tours and late-night TV appearances.

  • Founding the band Dead Fingers with his wife, crafting tunes like "Ring Around Saturn," which has garnered nearly 3 million streams.

  • Writing songs for his rock 'n' roll band, The Blips, which were featured as the "Coolest Song in the World" on Little Steven's Underground Garage.

Despite brushes with major industry players, Taylor's commitment to artistic and personal freedoms led him to pave his own path as a full-time musician, often performing in local bars and markets around Alabama, always remaining committed to his original material.
